We aim to provide a well-balanced programme that promotes mental and physical fitness in order to reduce stress and mental fatigue associated with military service; to promote and foster the sport of SCUBA diving and snorkelling within the CFB Halifax and Shearwater communities; and to teach and exercise the skills that promote safety in the sport of SCUBA diving and snorkelling.
The following are eligible for regular membership:
1) Members of the Regular Force and their families;
2) Veterans and their families;
3) Members of the Reserve Force (Class A/B and C) and their families; and
4) Members of Foreign Military currently serving/training with the CAF in Canada.
The following are eligible for ordinary membership:
1) Current full-time and part-time employees of DND, DRDC, DCC, CSE, the Staff of the Non-Public Funds and their families and the MFRCs;
2) Current RCMP and Canadian Coast Guard and their families;
3) Honorary Colonels/ Captain (Navy) and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonels/Commanders and their families; and
4) Former members of (1) or (2) in receipt of a pension.
Subject to the approval of the CFB Halifax Base Commander, any person not specified as a Regular Member or Ordinary Member may be invited to become an associate member. Associate membership shall be for one year with no guarantee of renewal for further terms.

Absolutely! Club members get access to free pool time, free use of equipment in the pool, special rates on certification & training and so much more!
At Shearwater Scuba Club, you can enjoy a range of diving experiences from guided shore dives, wreck drives, debris cleanup dives, pool practices and more.
We do have a limited supply of gear available to our members to use free of charge in the pool, you are welcome to bring your own gear for added comfort and familiarity during your diving adventures.

No, whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, you are welcome at Shearwater Scuba Club. If you wish to dive with the club you must be certified and dive within your level of certification.
